A turbocharged diesel engine is a type of internal combustion engine that combines diesel combustion technology with a turbocharger to improve power, efficiency, and overall performance. It is widely used in vehicles, heavy machinery, ships, generators, and industrial equipment because of its strong torque output and fuel economy.The basic working principle of a diesel engine is based on compression ignition. Air is drawn into the cylinder and compressed to a very high pressure, which raises its temperature significantly. When diesel fuel is injected into this hot, compressed air, it ignites spontaneously without the need for a spark plug. This process allows diesel engines to achieve high thermal efficiency and excellent durability.The turbocharger is a key component that makes the engine more powerful. It consists of two main parts: a turbine and a compressor. The turbine is driven by the exhaust gases leaving the engine. As the exhaust spins the turbine, it turns the compressor on the other side.
